As of 1996, John McCloy became the CEO of the pharmaceutical firm Biocyte in Australia, with his entrepreneurial instincts occasionally overwhelming his financial acumen, causing him to overextend himself in his attempt to pay and trade the world with pharmaceutical market.

Mission: Impossible 2 Edit

At a horse racing event, Ambrose meets McCloy to purchase Chimera and its cure from him, but he doesn't manage to secure the deal.

In Sydney, Ethan Hunt and his team kidnapped McCloy to force him to give up Bellerophon and managed to get some vital info. However, they learn that the only samples of Bellerophon were taken by Nekhorvich, and now Ambrose had them. As a result, Ambrose forced McCloy to exchange a sample of the virus for a sample of Bellerophon.

Later, Ambrose forces McCloy to accept the money and almost seizes the virus when 'Hugh' appears with 'Ethan'. McCloy witnesses Ambrose's killing of 'Ethan', which is actually the real Hugh and Ambrose is horrified of what he has done to his best colleague. What happened to him is unknown.

He is portrayed by Brendan Gleeson.

Trivia Edit

  • McCloy is directly responsible for Dr. Gradsky's death as he injected the doctor with the Chimera virus.
