Jack Harmon (October 6, 1964 – March 13, 1996) was a supporting protagonist in the 1996 film Mission: Impossible, the first installment of the Mission: Impossible film series. He was a field operative and a part of Jim Phelps's Impossible Mission Force team who was killed during the opening mission in Prague, Czech Republic.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Little information is known about the early life of Jack Harmon except that he was born on October 6, 1964 in Massachusetts, United States, and is therefore of US nationality. Even his life outside of his job as a field agent is mysterious. We only know that the person who is closest to him is Alexandra Soria, but we do not know who it is.

Mission in Prague and Death[]

In 1996, alongside his colleagues Ethan Hunt, Sarah Davies, Claire Phelps and Hannah Williams, Jack participates in a mission in Prague, Czesh Republic, to prevent a NOC of the IMF from being stolen and sold on the black market. As Tony Baretta, he hacks an elevator system in order to help the others. However, Jim Phelps betrays him as he controls a spike above the elevator shaft, and hacks the elevator so that Jack gets impaled by the spike.

Heritage[]

Ethan later avenges Jack and his other colleagues (also killed by Phelps and his henchmen) by placing a chewing gum bomb previously handed over by Jack on the corrupt leader's helicopter, destroying the craft and crushing Phelps on the railroad track of the TGV line.

Jack Harmon is portrayed by Amerian actor, director, writer and producter Emilio Estevez in Mission: Impossible. For some unknown reason, Estevez is not credited for the role.

The character is named Jack Kiefer in the screenplay of the film.
